I love taking photographs and using them as a starting point for my paintings. I am at my core a drawer who has added colour and various media to my creative process. As a result I work mainly in oil paint. I love the way oils can be manipulated like clay, and the colours remain so fresh. I also work with pastels, coloured pencil, watercolours and acrylic paint.
I am now in my own studio at " Opinicon Lakeside Studio " and have beautiful vistas all around me.
Working with my photo collection, I am currently playing with memories of Australia and Old Montreal as well as scenes from historic reenactments. I also continue with paying homage to the trees, rocks and water I see around me.
I tell stories with my art so I include people in many of my paintings and I describe my style as " stylized realism ".
